Despite successful prevention efforts, ocular trauma remains a leading cause of visual disability. This course reviews the newest developments in the management of patients with serious eye injuries. The topics include the standardized terminology of injury types; the value and operation of standardized registry systems; management of eyes with corneal and lens trauma as well as all major mechanical injury types; eyes with chemical trauma, and posttraumatic pressure problems. The course is intended both for comprehensive ophthalmologists and specialists.
